Carlos provides overall leadership and strategic guidance and coordination throughout all areas of the SosaGroup’s team structure. Carlos is Founder/President and Design Director of the SosaGroup. With 35+ years of design experience (29 in Indianapolis), Carlos is focused on providing a high level of design and communication services (and their application in business) to his clients.

Carlos oversees the creative and production areas of the business, gathering, analyzing and evolving ideas and concepts for specific accounts; and then galvanizing these concepts, whether for broadcast or print or web, through production and post-production phases to ensure a high quality end result that strives for a measurable change in consumer behavior.

Through various assignments, he has designed, coordinated and specified the production and printing of: annual reports for clients such as The Simon Property Group, Indiana University School of Law and Horizon Bank; corporate identity materials for clients such as Mays Chemical Company, the National Institute for Fitness & Sport, the Indiana Health Industry Forum, National League of Cities, IndyGo, Hoosier Park, The Roberto Clemente Sports City (Puerto Rico) and the Indianapolis Indians AAA Baseball Club; corporate/sales literature for clients such as Procter & Gamble, Clowes Memorial Hall, the Guidant Corporation; Eli Lilly Credit Union, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, St. Vincent Health and the State of Indiana.

Community
is Important

Originally a NuyoRican, Carlos has also represented the local Hispanic/Latino communities through participation in several boards and organizations. A veteran of the Indianapolis design community since 1986, Carlos has served as president of the Indianapolis chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts and has worked with various non-profit, cultural and social organizations in both design and community involvement. He has been or is a board member (at-large and/or advisory) for The Indiana Civil Liberties Union, the Hispanic Business Council of the IndyChamber of Comemerce, the Greater Indianapolis Hispanic Chamber of Comemerce, Theatre on the Square, Playball Indiana (the Indianapolis chapter of Major League baseball’s RBI Program), Second Helpings, among others. He has served as adjunct professor (Publication and Media Design) at the Pulliam School of Journalism at Franklin College and in the Visual Communications department of IVYTech College, indianapolis. An avid supporter of the Arts, Carlos has contributed his skills and experience to several local theatres, cultural groups and arts organizations.

Personal+Pedigree

Born and raised in the projects of New York City’s South Bronx, Carlos grew up in a community where multi-culturalism wasn't a buzzword, but rather a way of life. Working with and within other cultures has been second nature... naturally. Getting things done in a more than timely fashion is common to those reared in New York’s fast-paced lifestyle.

Carlos' design education has been extensive. From the wonderment of bold, provocative subway grafitti to the sophistication of MOMA to the subtle blue-bricked streets of El Viejo San Juan to the neon-powered streets of Tokyo, Carlos has drawn inspiration from every visual experience he has been fortunate to have had. He has studied in New York, Minneapolis, Tokyo and Cincinnati

A graduate of University of Cincinnati, Mr. Sosa holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Graphic Design and currently is a Masters Degree student at the School of Informatics and Computing, IUPUI. He is also an award-winning actor, character model and voice-over talent.
He teaches at the college level, (Carlos has recently been an adjunct professor of design at Franklin College and IVYTech) and is constantly pushing the envelope when it comes to communication, and the impact of new-media. Our experience, and involvement in the educational communities help us better serve our clients, but also keep us on the front-edge of what’s coming down the road...
